French Toast

A classic breakfast dish with an added hint of spice.

If using a frying pan over a burner, more butter will need to be added every now and then. To prevent the butter from burning, remove the skillet from the heat and allow the butter to melt in the hot skillet, then replace the skillet on the burner and continue frying.

Original recipe by Naomi
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 C. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. ginger or nutmeg
  • 2 T. butter
  • Sliced bread
Combine first five ingredients, using a fork or whisk, until thoroughly blended.

Melt butter in a griddle or skillet over low-medium heat. Dip both sides of bread slice in egg mixture; allow excess egg mixture to drip off bread slice. Fry both sides, 2-3 minutes each side.

Repeat until egg mixture is gone; you will need at least eight slices of bread. Serve with topping of your choice.
