Raisin Nut Bread


Modified recipe from Allrecipes.com
  • 2 C. flour
  • 3/4 C. sugar
  • 1 T. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. allspice
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 C. applesauce
  • 3 T. butter, melted
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 C. raisins
  • 1/2 C. chopped nuts
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F; grease and flour one 9" x 5" loaf pan.

Combine dry ingredients. Blend beaten egg with applesauce and melted butter; stir into dry mixture just until combined. Fold in raisins and chopped nuts.

Bake 50-60 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out completely clean.
