Seven-Layer Salad



This is a delicious salad that my mom makes for special meals, such as Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Recipe from Aunt Evelyn
  • 1 head lettuce, cut
  • 1/2 C. celery, chopped
  • 1/2 C. green onions, chopped
  • 1/2 C. green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 C. carrots, grated
  • 1 oz. frozen peas
  • 2 C. mayonnaise
  • 2 T. sugar
  • 8 oz. cheddar cheese, grated
  • 10 strips bacon, diced and fried crisp
Lay lettuce in the bottom of a 9" x 13" dish. Layer celery, onions, pepper, carrots, and peas. Combine mayonnaise and sugar; spread over salad. Top with cheese and bacon.

Cover and refrigerate at least 8 hours.
